Tameeka is an Arabana woman working and living on Kaurna Yerta. She is an Associate Research Fellow with Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity at SAHMRI and brings lived experience to her role in the YARN, contributing valuable insights from her work in research and Aboriginal health.

"To me, community plays a big part in my bringing everyone’s culture together in terms of coming from different country’s. It brings a sense of education and family in one. It’s a one stop shop to learn off each other, whether it's learning about the dreamtime or the different languages. It plays a big part in the Social and Emotional Wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as being with the community can assist in dealing with trauma, grief etc, because you are there for each other."
