As we wrap up for the year, we're excited to share the remarkable achievements outlined in our Annual Report 2023. The launch of Cancer Hub in July 2022, a collaborative initiative with Camp Quality and Redkite, stands out as a testament to our commitment to comprehensive cancer support for young people and their families. Thanks to an initial funding of $3.3 million from the Australian Government, Cancer Hub has become a supportive digital gateway, assisting 1,544 families in accessing practical and emotional support during their cancer journey.
In the face of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we safely welcomed young people back to in-person support, also marking the triumphant return of our vibrant Youth Leadership Festival in January 2023. We also launched our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, reflecting our commitment to providing support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their kin, and community.
In the past year, Canteen delivered an impressive 22,000 individual services, including counselling, youth leadership training, and education and career support. We supported 5,500 young people and parents, provided 7,751 counselling sessions, and connected 1,572 young people through Canteen Connect. 5,800 navigation and counselling sessions provided via Cancer Hub, while 42 young people with cancer were empowered to attend school remotely with the help of Canteen Robots.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters and partners who have made this vital work possible. Together, we continue our mission of being in a young person's corner when cancer crashes into their world.
