Raul has a Bachelor of Engineering and a Masters of Science and has worked with a range of corporate and not for profit organisations around the world. His corporate roles have included responsibility for quality assurance, risk management and operational improvements. In the NFP sector he has worked with Cancer Council NSW, Social Leadership Australia, Australian Social Innovation eXchange, ChildFund Australia and Peace First using technology for good and to address complex issues. Over the past four years, Raul has been the architect and leader of the transformational change that Canteen's Data and Technology team has facilitated for the organisation.
Raul has been recognised nationally and internationally for his expertise and work in delivering change. These include CIO-Top 50 Technology Leaders in Australia, United Nations General Assembly - Side Event guest speaker, Best Use of NSW Data (NSW Minister for Innovation), 100 Colombianos (President of Colombia), Nobel Prize Week guest speaker and as Online Volunteer of the Year (United Nations).
